When is Orientation Week?
Orientation Week takes place the week before school starts. This year it will take place September 5th - September 11th.

Is participation in Orientation Week mandatory?
Participation in Orientation Week is not mandatory but it is highly encouraged. Orientation Week provides students with a solid foundation academically and socially for the start of the school year.

Why should I participate in Orientation Week?
Orientation Week introduces incoming students to university life in a fun and safe way. Students will get the chance to experience an array of academic, team building, and social activities that will allow them to prepare for school and make life long friends in the process.

What does my Orientation package include?
Your Orientation package includes a full week of exciting programming, meals, academic advisory sessions, as well as night time parties and receptions. Everything is included in your ticket price so once you get here, you can kick back, relax and enjoy the journey!

I really want to participate in Orientation Week but don't think that I can afford it, what should I do?
Orientation Week ensures that every student is given the opportunity to participate. For this reason, Trinity College offers a bursary for incoming students who require financial assistance. We highly encourage you to contact the Dean’s Office via email at deanofstudents@trinity.utoronto.ca or make a phone call to (416)-978-3612 should you require any assistance.

I am not into the "party scene", is Orientation for me?
Of course it is! We should stress that Orientation Week is not a week full of parties. We have a balanced schedule of events planned out with something for everyone. If you would prefer a Harry Potter Movie Marathon over a Beach Day, we've got you covered. Likewise, if you aren't a semi-formal kind of person or a party-goer, you are welcome to join our Ice Cream Sundae Fest scheduled to be running at the same time as these night events. Furthermore, Orientation Week includes important sessions on getting accustomed to university life and succeeding academically that everyone will benefit from attending.

What accommodations do you have for commuters?
We offer a Buddy Pairing Program during Orientation Week where commuter students have the opportunity to live with a residence student for the week. The Pairing Program is a hugely popular Trinity O-Week tradition that’s run every year where a resident student hosts a non-resident student for the week. You can sign up for the pairing program here: https://goo.gl/forms/JXGn0qmrcVoLJhEw2

We have also prepared a commuter friendly schedule with all night events ending before the subway closes and most events starting after 10 am. Additionally, there will be commuter specific events such as a Commuter Mixer and Commuter Info Session. A Commuter Meet Up event is also in the works. It is scheduled to take place before Orientation Week in August as a chance for students in Toronto and the GTA to get to know the Orientation Executive and make friends before the week even starts!

What accommodations do you have for international students?
We have many international student focused initiatives this year to ensure that all students feel welcome and a part of the community during Orientation Week. We have planned events such as an International Student Info Session, International Student Mixer, and TTC tours. We also will have translations of documents in various languages for students whose first language isn't English.
